Trainings and Assistance

 

One-on-one training and technical assistance is always available from the SRTS office. Grant coordinators are available to assist you by providing more information on the program, guidance on competitive projects, and how to best develop a competitive action plan and funding application. 

If you are unable to participate in a SRTS Basics call or regional training, or if you would like individualized training for your community, please contact your regional coordinator to schedule a date and time. 

 

SRTS Basics

SRTS Basics is a 60-minute conference call training that will help you understand how Safe Routes to School works in Michigan. We will discuss the SRTS planning process, the Five Es, and provide you with the information you need to talk about SRTS in your school and community. The session ends with Q&A, so you will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn from others on the call. No cost to participate.

Registration is required—Calls are limited to 25 participants.

SRTS Award Recipient Trainings

Award recipient trainings are for schools and organizations that have received SRTS noninfrastructure funding for their education, encouragement, and enforcement programs. Participants will learn more about reporting procedures and invoicing guidelines.

SRTS Webinar Series Presented by Michigan Association of Planning

Sponsored by the Michigan Safe Routes to School Program and the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Michigan Chapter of the American Planning Association is offering a series of eight, webinar workshops to deliver valuable information relating to Safe Routes to School, school siting, and other related topics.These webinar workshops are provided at no cost and will occur primarily during the lunch hour.
