Schools across Michigan took this year’s theme of “Come One, Come All” to heart by coming out in mass numbers for bike to school on the beautiful morning of Wednesday, May 9th. We had 216 schools participate with over 40,000 students pedaling their way to school.

The Michigan School Wellness Award aims to encourage schools statewide to create healthy school environments by establishing School Health Teams, completing the Healthy School Action Tools (HSAT) and implementing sustainable policy and environmental changes. The Fall Fire Up Your Feet Challenge came to a close at the end of October with 21 Michigan schools and over 8,100 participants. These 21 communities logged over 453,826 miles and 147,629,000 minutes of physical activity. Students, families, and school staff at seven schools in Michigan collectively won cash awards mounting to over $5,000 in total
